7'2" Australian centre Luke Nevill and current Mountain West college player of the year is currently in training camp with the Cleveland Cavaliers, alongside NBS stars LeBron James and Shaquille O'Neill.

Could Nevill be an outside shot at securing a berth at the Cav's, or is he just training fodder?
fodder, but i saw that with no evidence or real knowledge on his value.

The Cav's only really ony have a couple of options at centre, including an ageing Shaq and Ilgauskas. Varejao could slide across to the centre posiotion if required, however he is obviously far better suited to the PF spot. Same goes for Leon Powe, a PF at best.
If the Cav's are looking for a backup C with younger legs to provide some insurance, then Nevill is battling another training camp invitee in Darryl Watkins who played 9 games with the Spurs as a Rookie last season when they struggled to have any fit players.
Nevill is a big body who can score both inside and out to mid-range. He is a "white stiff" but can add value and play a role as required.
Remember Powe's out for at least the first half of the season but still I don't see Nevill cracking it. Kinda surprised they haven't re-signed Lorenzen Wright, he could really play back in his Clippers/Hawks days.

He is more a of Luc Longley type, however he does not have the same passing ability as Longley, but is a better scoring threat.

Whether he makes it or not it's pretty awesome that he's at a training camp battling with one of the greatest centres of all time and the reigning MVP, amazing experience.

Watched the Wine and Gold intra club game highlights and big Luke was definitely seeing some on court action.
did he do anything worth mentioning LC? did he look like he fitted in or what?

Inthe brief parts I saw im, he didn't take a shot, but he was doing the team things such as setting a pick etc
