dont know what happened to my post before.
add camino and burston gets match fitness we will be around the mark.
if a bit more luck happened with our shots we could have won.
boomers killed us with high roll and pop / pick and roll.
adelaide definitely in teh mix with boomers caps and sydney.
next week will be a big week.
when is the other big coming from the states? we were clearly on big short today.

Seems like Lightning going for 32 3point shots and getting 7 in, while boomers attempted only 13 and got 6 in, probably the difference.
Francis game top scorer in only 22mins.
Sounds like the american big agreed to come but then wanted more money.

Good to see Francis finally put up some decent numbers..
It's interesting how Francis was touted as the next best thing coming out of her ROTY season at the institute, then Valk takes over in Adelaide and Francis hasn't gotten any better; in fact IMO she's lost a considerable amount of confidence and her game is suffering because of it.
With Tolo in Canberra becoming a superstar thanks to Graff, and Cambage at Bulleen under the tutelage of Maher and Fox, its clear that Francis is the one missing out.

agreed - persisted too much with duke when sammy should have been on - duke is best as a bench player in short bursts

I don't see as much of the Lightning as I do of the the 36ers. From what I've seen, Lightning look pretty good when Cayla Francis gets under the basket, but that doesn't happen enough - as she's kinda in a hurry to take a few shots, then on the bench.

Woosnam should have played a lot more minutes, and both duke and marino played too many.. The behaviour of marino (facials she pulled, swearing -yes, we were sitting close enough to hear everything- and throwing of the arms in the air) towards team mates and umpires was arrogant to say the least, and it's about time someone else was given as much of a chance to prove themselves in that role as shes been given..Marino needs to step up and take responsibility for her own mistakes.
I havent been to a lightning game since the sporn days, and now i know why.... What a terrible game - scrappy and not worth the fifteen bucks. I am happy to support womens basketball but not when you have to watch a game like that one..... I won't be going for a long while...
Actually - maybe next time i'll buy my ticket in support of the sport, then head home without going inside...
Éven the littlies at half time were hitting better shots, much more interesting!

I hadn't read the comments about swearing, pony tail flicking, throwing of arms in the air until now - spot on. I am a keen supporter of women's basketball but don't know when I will go again after that performance. She makes it really hard to support the team.
