Create the best NBL team

Just for a bit of fun, try build the best 10 man roster using the NBL Points System.
You must have an Under 23 player and a maximum of 2 imports.
Ideally you'd want 2 PG, 2 SG, 2 SF, 2 PF and 2 C, but you don't necessarily have to as long as the structure will still fit. (obviously if you put in 10 guards, the team won't be competitive).
You get 70 points to play with.
The Points System is here: http://linky.com.au/13fbj
New Imports are usually 10 points as far as I know.
I've been working on one, but won't post it just yet.

Wont worry about imports. Does the Salary cap matter?

C - Bogut / Burston
PF - Anderson / Hinder
SF - Ingles / Abercrombie
SG - Newley / Goulding
PG - Mills / Bruce

As the salaries aren't released, we can't really take that into account here.

Not sure about your team skip. You might aswell put Kobe and LeBron in for your import spots.

I'd say the players would have to be at least available to play NBL.

I looked at it and have my team as:

PG: Gibson (8)/Goulding (1)
SG: Penney (10)/Weigh (5)
SF: Grizzard (8)/Herbert (5)
PF: Worthington (10)/Holmes (8)
C: Burston (10)/Vanderjagt (6)

Coach: Rod Beveridge

That gives me a total of 68 points, Goulding as my Under 23, Grizzard is an Import and a team that can score, play defence and crash the boards.

What do people think?

M.Burston - 7
A.Ballinger - 10
T.Darden - 9
K.Penney - 10
T.McKee - 10?

L.Davidson - 7
A.Petrie - 7
T.Abercrombie - 1
C.Goulding - 1
D.Martin - 5

That's 67 points.

You can see how much easier it is for teams to fit everyone in once they grab a bargain or two like Abrcrombie or Goulding.

Clarky, not sure how you can take Vandy over Petrie/Davidson but otherwise that looks good.

X - the main reason I took Vanderjagt over Davidson was because it allows my team to improve the import spot (Grizzard) from an 8 point import to a full 10 point import (someone new to the league).
That was the main reason behind it, that and the fact that I completely missed Petrie on the list!

PG Williams (9) / Weigh (5)
SG Penney (10) / Harvey (8)
SF Hodge (10) / Abercrombie (1)
PF Ballinger (10) / Ronaldson (6)
C Schenscher (10)/ Johnson (1)

70 points

The starting 5 speaks for itself.
Bargains in Abercrombie and Johnson and both U23. Ronaldson handy for a few minutes and Harvey can rip the game open and be the 'spark' needed off the bench. Weigh is just a good, solid, reliable player.
