What does basketball want

Stephens said if elected, his party would allocate 25 per cent of mining royalties up to $40 million in the first year to a regional infrastructure development fund.

He said that money would aid the development of sports projects in rural communities, but he did not address specific needs.

Hockey SA needs $4 million to upgrade its headquarters at State Sports Park, Softball SA wants $1 million to upgrade lights at West Beach and Baseball SA wants to build a $4 million headquarters at Gepps Cross.

fROM aDELAIDE nOW - So what does basketball want apparently nothing

Won't happen as that is bing turned into a computer hub which was recently released in the media. Basketball should get nothing until BSA sorts itself out. Until the right people are in charge nothing will ever change!

Until we can fill the BMC or Ent Center, you'd be hard pressed to put together a business case for a larger capacity stadium.

I didn't even realise there were hockey or softball teams in SA...

Perhaps the centralised "NEW TAFE" should also include a multipurpose stadium/function centre anyhow!

Why do we always miss out?

Who are the right people and what is the right structure?

Stadium like Dandenong?

Yes would be logical/profitable and could house BSA and SASI but you are forgetting 53% of basketballs registrations in SA are SA Country? Also you forgot SA Church as well.

I cant see why the goverment cant/wont put money into basketball in our State.

Most of our BSA stadiums are out of date and most of the modern ones cant accomadate for heat so then they are wasted because of liability and policies.

Something should be addressed at a goverment level and start shelling out some cash for basketball for once and stop sweeping us under the carpet.

Basketball in the WHOLE of SA is neglected and time for someone to do something about it.

Wake up Ex-PPDO.
The sport is in the situation it finds itself because the majority of the people that run it simply shouldn't be.

Maybe you should do something about it.

The state Government has pumped money into basketball in the past and look what happened.... and private ownership of our NBL/WNBL teams has worked out so well too.

If you want Government money you need to be able to put forward a decent case to get it.
