Alison Lacey, a senior point guard from Canberra who played for Iowa State was selected at pick number 10 in the first round by the Seattle Storm. Lacey has picked up all kinds of awards this past season and has had illustrious collegiate career, including being named finalist for the player of the year award and being named all-conference first team.

I looked into Lacey's performances at college and she looks like a real Opals prospect - possibly someone who could step up and fill Harrower's shoes when she retires.

From the article:

"She's a 6-foot point guard that led the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio. She doesn’t make bad decisions, doesn’t make bad mistakes and has deep range on that three ball, so she will be great coming off the bench for Sue Bird."

Some of her accomplishments in college:

AP All-America Honorable Mention (2010)
WBCA All-America Finalist and Honorable Mention (2010)
WBCA All-Region 5 (2010)
Nancy Lieberman Award Finalist (2010)
All-Big 12 First Team (2010)
