Saville stays with Hawks

Long-time Wollongong ahm Hawks star and savvy veteran Glen Saville will return to the club for the 2010/11 National Basketball League season.

Along with Mat Campbell, Saville has been the cornerstone of the foundation club the past decade and will continue to lead by example on and off court for the Wollongong ahm Hawks.

Last season, not only was Saville an integral part in the Hawks' success as NBL Grand Finalists but he also led the league in steals with 1.4 per game and shot a career high 48.8% from the three-point line to lead the league in three-point percentage for the season.

Hmmm... I would have put money on him retiring - he visibily slowed-up last year, although he could still put a decent game together. Better to retire while still in control of your destiny IMO, cf. Maher. Ah well, props to him for the role he's played at the Hawks over the years. Looking forward to his pouting face every time a foul gets called against him for one more season!

Not sure if you noticed, Sav led the league in 3pt percentage and was at the top in steals also.

Most people probably don't know due to the NBL not announcing any league leaders, or having a 1/2 decent stats section on their site.

Not to mention being named ALL NBL 3rd team.

May have slowed a bit, but still a couple of seasons left surely.

Sav was great this year apart from slowing down a bit at the end there when they really needed him. Should definitely go another.

Name another better 3 man in the league! There isn't any.
