I have put some players slightly out of position, and I haven't based it on longevity or performance in a Boomers uniform. My criteria was the best player (entirely subjective I know) talent wise who has at one time or another played for the Boomers.

Are we talking about assembling a team featuring the best Aussies in their prime? Or the best based on achievements in a Boomers uniform?

It's so obvious this is an adelaide forum because there's no way if you're gonna be realistic that brett maher should be in the team.

As an NBL player yes, but not internationally.

i wouldnt have brett maher in my best boomers team ever coz he never got a chance to play. for fark sake i always get angry watching the aussie team play
especially after waking up at 4am to watch us blow a lead in the final quarter and rim out the game winner.
now im staying up to 1am to watch us put our life on the line against germany tonight

My rationale:
Vlahov played more a bruising undersized PF than a 3;
Sengstock played in 4 Olympics I think, and played the 3,4 and 5 in decending order;
The 2 greatest shooting guards of Australia in Gaze and Eddie, and for you crow-eaters,
Smyth was hands-down the best PG, and I have a sneaky suspicion that Ingles will be a future HoFer

I reckon Jonno's team above is pretty spot on as the best boomers team at this point. Too early IMO to include Patty. Only inclusion I'd make is Ronaldson and Pabulinkas instead of Newley for the same reason as Patty.
