World Champs: Day 3 Recap

Day 3 had been run and is now done...and the Boomers did us all proud by steam-rolling a stunned Germany.

However there were other games in action, including Brazil's near win against the USA. and Slovenia's triumph over Croatia.

Group A
- Australia defeated Germany, 78-43
AUS: Mills 16, Maric 15, Ingles 10
GER: Benzing 11, Ohlbrecht 10
Australia's stifling defence coupled with great ball movement was a mix that the Germans could not handle.

- Serbia defeated Jordan, 112-69
SRB: Savanovic & Keselj 21, Perovic 20, Bjelica 12
JOR: Daghles 19, Abbaas 15
Serbia used their scoring artillery to overpower a clearly outgunned Jordan side. Rasic and Teodosic had 8 and 7 assists respectively in the scoring spree.

- Argentina defeated Angola, 91-70
ARG: Scola 32, Delfino 22
ANG: Gomes 16, Cipriano 15, Morais 11
Argentina's dynamic duo in Scola and Delfino were just too much for Angola to handle despite the absence of Oberto. Argentina took the opportunity to share the minutes with their bench players in this game.

Group B
- Slovenia defeated Croatia, 91-84
SLO: Slokar & Lakovic 15, Dragic 14, Nachbar 11
CRO: Ukic 20, Popovic & Tomas 17
Slovenia continues their rise up through the European ranks by outlasting rivals Croatia. When big man Luka Zoric went down with injury for the Croats, it was never going to be.

- Iran defeated Tunisia, 71-58
IRN: Haddadi 23, Kamrani 15, Kazemi 14
TUN: Ben Romdhane & Mejri 10
Iran ensured they will not finish last in their group with a solid win over the a struggling Tunisian team, once again led by NBA big man Haddadi.

- USA defeated Brazil, 70-68
USA: Durant 27, Billups 15, Rose 11
BRA: Vinicius 16, Barbosa 14, Splitter 13
USA used a get out of jail card today in overcoming Brazil. Brazil throughout the first half and at half time, but Barbosa's game tying lay-up attempt at the buzzer just would not drop, ensuring the USA escaped with just a 2-point win, proving that the USA is vulnerable.
