What if.....

...Schenscher doesn't get drafted?

Reading his interviews over the past 3 years, he has stated that at times he has become pretty homesick. Can miracles happen? Any Southern boys know any inside info on his plans if his name isn't called out?

...Phil and Steve aren't re-signed?

Would we expect to field an ABL-quality starting 5? We would lose all of the uncontracted players, surely, as they thrive in the Phil/Steve system. Fan uprising? Sizers fold?

...basketball got actual FTA coverage?

Any exposure is good. Even on ABC like it used to be. Limited highlights and a weekly one hour show, in a relatively 'nice' time slot.

Plenty of others, these are just for starters. Post away.

Given that the Sixers weren't permitted to run a webcam for games, I'm assuming that the club would be precluded from organising coverage on Channel 31, even a delayed replay with low-end production values. Can't see FTA happening on a large network with crowds as small as they are around the country -- still some work to do there. And it certainly wouldn't happen in Adelaide alone given that the networks would look at falling crowd numbers and wonder how televising that form of entertainment would be worth anything to them.

Schenscher would have to go to Europe. If Anstey can do it, Luke could be good enough to make better than NBL money.

yet we get SANFL on free to air - with average crowds of 1200-1500

or WNBL getting free to air
(not that I am against it)

at least NBL gets 4-5,000 here

now there are good points!

Don't the ABC have some sort of agreement where they broadcast things like the WNBL, SANFL and the like, due to the small budget's and lack of exposure they otherwise get.

WNBL gets broadcast because it is womens sport and the ABC charter has to give equal times to bithe sexes I beleive.

Dick Vitale raved about Schensher all year in all of the GT broadcasts...hard not to think that some one will adopt him as a project. Wonder what his numbers compared to Luc Longleys are?

Not resigning Phil has already cost us Cat coming back into the team. How many other players have got a "if Phils is not the coach" clause ?
