While American Import , Troy Devries was the game top scorer and runner up NBL Player of the week, in his debut as a 36er - tonight, expect Craig Winder to run to the top of the thermometer.

I'm also on the hunt 4 a way to watch/hear tonights game......anyone ?
At the dome last game & I get the feeling Winder is going to be in a lot of highlights & looking at some of his past game highlights....he can also shoot the 3.

Reply #293530 | Report this post

i think the delay is due to their coverage of the F1. As an F1 fan and a ball fan i'm happy. They are replaying the NBL games a bit as well. Big week with NBA all over the place as well.

The point is a guy called Mark Webber is racing to keep his lead in the Formula One world championship! The NBL is on straight after that. If the AFL can live with delayed coverage so can the NBL.

It appears our 3-point shooting dropped off in the last half and theirs improved.

Do I draw any conclusions from the fact they had 14 more foul shots than the sixers and 11 less fouls.

It sounds like Cairns used the ball a little better and made the most of the benefits that come with home court.

When you shoot 25 threes you probably wont get many foul calls. Predictable result though, Cairns were 11-3 at home last year and have more talent this year.

Reply #293578 | Report this post

Beantown

Looks like the main difference in the game was free throws. Cairns only made one more field goal than us but made 9 more free throws. Perhaps a lack of adjustment by the Sixers after the physical contest the refs allowed against Perth?

this is a bit of an assumption, but it seems the sixers lack of height and size really hurt them in this game. especially seeing as the only centre played 13 minutes, and the "backup" about the same. The taller teams (crocs and tigers) will want to see the game tape for sure.

^Big sigh. 4 turnovers in 13 minutes for a big man is unacceptable.

What's with Balls playing only 25 minutes? He was obviously on song with 16/6 +3 blocks and wasn't in any sort of foul trouble.

Rhys Carter needs to sort out his outside shooting pretty quickly. His confidence from out there doesn't seem to match his ability at the moment. Nice to see 8 assists to his name though.

But isnt DJ coming along nicely and showing all these signs of improvement from last season!? This is going to be the guy that takes over the mantle from Jacob as my 'dont give it to him!' guy, atleast jacob doesnt shoot anymore.

Reply #293590 | Report this post

Years ago

Yeah, dont give it to Johnson, he is only shooting 100% for the year!

The thing with Johnson is if he has the ball anywhere away fron the hoop a guard has to come for a handoff or a short pass, there is no way he should be left to try and create a pass or a drive to the hoop like he was against Perth.

Reply #293594 | Report this post

Im talking about his T/O's, he can finish, but he cant create, and when he tries he turns it over. Jacob's issue was he shot too much.

At Adelaide , it was boring - waiting for stats to start.
As exciting a second half as watching the neighbourhood bully blow his nose for half an hour.
