Lightning Import - Zygaite.

Time is up for Augustina "Augie" Zygaite, llightning must cut its losses and release her from contract.. Numbers have not been impressive in the slightest and she is not having the impact expected of an import. No more "match up" excuses or blaming her nerves.

Garam chai, garam chai!

Averaging 2.4 and 1.8. 27% from the field. Could probably just give all her minutes to a local prospect to develop them.

IF there was a local with her size I'm sure they would.

No doubt the Lightning are disappointed with what she's producing but she's a solid body. And there aren't any bigs left in SA.

womens basketball is little fun to watch because of people thinking a solid body comes before skill and smarts.

I've heard that she intially trialed with the Flames but they didn't sign her. Smart decision as they got Amy Denson instead.

It's certainly time to cut her loose. Her stats arent anyway near up to standard for an import spot. She is always in foul trouble in the 1st qtr as she doesnt have the defensive tools to cover the really good 4 & 5's in the WNBL. To be perfectly honest she would struggle in the local ABL competition. Amber Land (training Lightning roster player) would certainly bring more to the table then Auggie.

she only played mixed bball with her brothers team over in her ocuntry (according to abc wnbl coverage) so why they got her is beyond anyone!! not bad to look at though ;-)

Does anyone know why they did'nt sign Tess Madgen? (she just lived up the road from Gawler at Williamstown)

Saw the game on Sunday she was very impressive for Bendigo. Got 24pts against Perth and 25pts against Adelaide(18 in the first half, was'nt given the ball as much in the 2nd), with high FG% and a lot of rebounds and only sat out for a couple of minutes prior to halftime.

amber is not an answer as she was centrals only avenue to score with everything going through her but she is too slow to make shots in the next step up

pretty sure amber can put up better numbers than the current import. meanwhile its an expensive experiment.

if the team has to channel certain players it wont matter who they pick up because Lightning have had the players and lost them no doubt due to many factors but a recurring theme is emnerging
