U14 boys - set starting 5

Easy game last night. We played against a certain team that the coach appeared set with a starting 5 that clearly wasn't up to it. 5 minutes in and with a game leading break of more than 10 their coach finally made a change. 2 late by then. The game was over. Good for us.

Well thank you for getting on here and telling us all about it. This has really made my day, I can sleep a little easier at night knowing this.

It may be just me but this sounds more like someone from the losing team having a swipe at their coach or a player in the starting 5?

This is a forum, so have your say. I wouls have named the teams in question. Flames and tigers. Doesn't seem to be working at Norwood this year. Maybe the bench should be used a little more.

OK so your kid is a bench player for Norwood then.

I wonder if your posting on hoops will actually get them into the starting 5?

ahhh Norwood and their ability to attract players from other clubs at this and lower age groups without a hint of poaching may be coming back to bite them.

Some coaches develop teams and others develop individuals.

I have never seen a team of individuals win anything long term.

Young coaches fall into the trap of playing favourites and developing individuals; which destroys confidence team, play and spirit.
