Update on Wright vs Groves trial

BRISBANE Bullets basketball players were told by an injured player at halftime in an NBL semi-final game that their club was going to fold, a court heard yesterday.

In the Supreme Court in Brisbane, former Bullets coach Joey Wright was giving evidence on the first day of a civil trial in which he is suing the club's ex-owner, Eddy Groves, for first breach of contract.

Mr Wright is claiming damages after his alleged sacking in March 2008, seeking lost earnings and other entitlements such as bonus payments and car leases for about the remaining two years of his contract.
