Saint Mary's is trailing Gonzaga 34-39 at the half time break. Both teams shooting well, with the difference probably in the turnovers going against SMC.

The Gael's lost an intense West Coast Conference tournament final to Gonzaga. Delly was inspirational in carrying the Gael’s on his back in the early part of the 2nd half into the lead. Foul trouble, turnovers and lack of scoring support for Delly and McConnell hurt the Gael’s in the end who must now rely on being selected by the NCAA tournament committee for a spot in the big dance.

Steindl came off the bench and scored 3 points on 1/2 shooting (1/2 3PT) to go with 1 foul and no turnovers in 9 minutes.
Dellavedova started and scored 21 points on 8/17 shooting (3/6 3PT, 2/2 FT) to go with 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 2 turnovers in 40 minutes.
Young came off the bench and scored 3 points on 1/4 shooting (1/2 FT) to go with 4 rebounds, 1 block and 1 turnover before fouling out in 22 minutes.
Page did not play.
Delli played good offence and NOOOOO Defence!!!
The Gaels clearly needed a 5 man, they were out rebounded when it mattered.
Mickey Mconnell carried them and Deli was offensively good.
Rob Jones the USD transfer was a disgrace, Mitch Young good early. Clint Stiendl is a soft cock and over rated. He's at best a div 2 player.
Stephen Holt was ok....good future prospect.
Gaels finished where they belong in 2nd place. Gonzaga will be a team that could surprise in the Tournie.
Next season you will see a much bigger SMC team, with a legit 6'11 c coming in from Oregeon. From a JC. He's tuff as shit. Moving Jones back to the 3.

Rob Jones played shithouse. Mitchell Young is too soft with his hands. Even Mickey wasn't all that good. Delly practically carried the gaels. I don't know why they didn't try to exploit Stockton's defence more. Especially when he was defending 6'7 Steindl. He looks like some high school kid. I don't care who his father is, his name got him in that team.
Steindle played hardly any minutes, he was guarding Holt the entire game.
Mickey was solid and Deli tuff. Deli cost the gaels to many times on the defensive end.
Were you watching the same game, Stockton was in the top 3 players on the floor. In a year or two he will be top 3 in the wcc.
He's smart, efficient and controls the team. He was the one that broke the Gales back.

Stockton played more minutes in that game than any other game...he was fantastic. Lets remember, he is a freshman and having a high impact already. He'll go NBA after 4 years. And his dad still looks like a high school kid, so that's not about to change.
I think if Randy had his time again he would have played Steindel more early on. You can't put a kid in to shoot you out of trouble when he hasn't played all night in Championship game. Would like to have seen Micky McConell take the game on earlier also, some deep 3s, step backs, etc. The stuff he has done so many times before.
