24sec Shotclock Ruling

Just been announced that the new 24 second shot clock rule will not be in play for the 2011 CABL Season, due to the fact that not every stadium can run the 14 second reset.

And probably because teaching club volunteers how to do it was too difficult at such a late stage.

If BSA had made this decision months ago we wouldn't have a problem.

For CABL we have assigned scorebenches, not volunteers. Not to mention it's pretty straight forward really.

what did it entail

Actually for CABL the clubs assign volunteers

BSA only supply a chairperson

Went to Pasadena Monday night for Div 2

Court 1 no scoreboard working.Using "flip boards"
Court 2 no 24 second clock
Court 3 all malfunctioning

I think a 14 second clock is out of the question

We have SA scoreboards in Darwin. Technical issues with chipsets and software. Our 14 second reset works intermittently at best

New 14/24 shot clock rules were announced by FIBA as follows:
Official Basketball Rules 2010
Available since: 30/04/2010
Valid as of: 1st October 2010

So, BSA have only had about 1 year to get their arse into gear... can't expect too much really I suppose now can we???

Hm, I understood that all the BASA boards reset themselves to zero time, zero scores , zero teams fouls - etc, etc, automatically each 14 seconds anyway - so what's the problem ?

very old I don't think BASA boards reset at all.

Because they don't exist. BASA hasn't been around for 4 years now.

Bu223r - you mean that they totally re-set BASA and nothing really changed?? - must be very disheartening
