Just as well it is supposed to be one of our better stadiums! When do Sturt have to move out of Pasadena if the school closes?!?
OK let's calm down here the light blew. That's it and why the games were called off is beyond me. There was enough light to finish the games. There was no fire

This could have been built into something big.
Can't blame Sturt if a light fitting packs it in
If Pasadena closes im sure the stadium would be kept along with the Arts center. Gov will sell off the rest for housing.
No fire? Try telling that to the Norwood kid who had molten plastic nearly fall on him.

Heat causes melting - fire is a visible sign of high heat levels. Something burns your hand, doesn't a fire caused it.
so while the Norwood kid having molten plastic nearly fall on him is of concern, the molten plastic doesn't prove a fire occurred.
If you consider the number of lights in BSA stadiums and the long hours of use they are subjected to, normal failure rates are going to occur in those lights than (for example) carpark lighting, as the stadium lights are used (on an estimate) 50% more - Stadium lights used duruing the day and at night - carpark lights only at night.
I would hope that the Stadium Manager was either present and/or was notified, a call to someone higher up was made, and the sensible decision made to cancel at least the game on that court.
I believe the cancelling of all games at Pasadena would have been neccessary, as if games did continue and a fire did start and spread, BSA could be in legal trouble for not showing due dilligence in ensuring the safety of it's paying clients (players, parents, BSA staff).
I never had game cancellations occur in my playing days, and am sure there was some frustration at the decison made, but safe rather than sorry is a neccessary evil due to these days of litigation for $ sake, rather than actual harm/injury.
873, double dutch .....fire at pasadena seems to cut it and normal failure rates don't equate to melting plastic dripping from ceilings.

sorry, no sympathy, seem to remember a 'perfect pasadena parent' complain long and loudly last summer season game at local stadium when games had to be abandoned due to leaking roof when Adelaide had major downpour. Also remember last season when 'shock horror' pasadena court one leaked, just prior to mens semi final game. Clubs need to remember - majority are tenants and have no control over maintenance - BSA issue!! Although have to be honest, there is a certain amount of glee at pasadena problems - welcome to the real world

Fair call, but one knob doesn't make orgy.
There was abigger fire on the same court on Friday the 15th . Sturt beat West 102 to 6.
We were playing after them . Sturt were playing a Zone .Isn't that against the rules in Div 2?

rules are more like guidelines.
u/12s are not ment to play a zone, but the zone was better then the press, allowing the west boys to get a run, rather then sturt intecept the pass after a shot. regardless of right or wrong or what the rules are.
the zone was for the greater of the game.
end of discussion, you should just worry about your own team and not whats undercontrol on another.
