" He spoke about how they'd given Paul Henare their beach house to live in because the elongated season had left the retiring player homeless."

Warm and fuzzy but did they include it in the salary cap?

Talk about missing the point. The original commenter was just saying they are not about the limelight. Same would be true for a few owners around the league I think.

Typical. Best team in the league, very good and supportive owners, terrific community spirit...

SO jealous.

wasn't always like that Ineedmore, only need to look back pre Lemanis to the Jeff "tha maori" Green and Frank Arsego days.

Stuff.co.nz just had Tom Abercrombie online to answer fans questions. Was pretty good reading.
When asked about playing for another NBL club Abercrombie replied that only the NBA or Euroleague are options and he wouldn't consider another NBL club. Abercrombie is also a Pacers fan and Reggie Miller was the player he wanted to be like as a kid but he's picking Miami to get the Series win over the Celtics and hopefully take the NBA title.

I'd take Frank Arsego over Marty Clarke.

But thanks for the reminder that other clubs can be dysfunctional too.
