All I know is that was a great game of basketball at the cage last night. Both teams played great, southern just seemed to want it more in the end. If this is the standard of play we are going to see through the finals. Then there will surely be some basketball worth watching

It's going to be a very interesting finals series.

West probably start favourites due to their 17-0 record.

Norwood will be not far off, although they have been pretty close to West I can't see them beating them in the semi.

Sturt seem to have been written off a bit - a dangerous thing to do! I think they'll get over Southern in the first week.

Southern will give it a real go, but I don't think they'll be able to beat Sturt when it really matters. Just not quite as finals-ready as the other three teams.

On a side note, if West win, I think it will be the first time in quite some years that the winter season hasn't been won by either Sturt or Norwood? More knowledgeable posters may be able to correct me on this if I'm wrong.

Magoo, first of all, they are a good team who have had a reasonable year. I think people might be getting a little carried away by a couple of wins over Sturt though. Southern missed summer finals and were fourth at State Champs, and are playing in the elimination semi in two weeks. They've been good, but not that great.

My point though was that West, Sturt and Norwood are used to comepting at that level. Southern probably lack that mental edge. A less experienced team with an inexperienced coach (who has done a good job by the way) just might be their downfall.

To be quite honest I'd like to see a Sturt v Southern grand final. Unfortunately it can't happen because either West or Norwood will be guaranteed a place.
