NH: Vale Ted Mullighan

He had nothing to do with basketball, but one of the most brilliant legal minds and smartest South Australians passed away after a battle with cancer.

After a career spanning over 40 years culminating in him being a Supreme Court Judge, he went on to chair the Children in State Care Commission of Inquiry. Justice Mullighan and his team examined years of alleged sex abuse committed against wards of the state and after 4 years investigation, tabled a 600-page report and referred 400 potential offenders to police for investigation.

He went on to be Commissioner of the Children on APY Lands Inquiry.

A great man whose passing will leave SA much the poorer.

Is a sad loss, may he RIP.

So often we forget those who have a REAL & significant impact on people lives and society.

This state and its peoples owe a significant debt of gratitude.

Thankyou

Certainly leaves a great legacy. Pity so many of his recommendations will never be acted upon.

Would be great to see him immortalised with a court house or something being named after him.

I worked with Ted for a while a few years back and will always be inspired by his quiet determination to make a change. The world seems emptier without him in it. Truly a great man.
