He set a new NBA record for free throws attempted with 39 attempts, breaking Wilt's almost 50 year old record. 21/39 for the game. Finished with 45 and 23.
He was a absolute monster, he single handily destroyed the frontcourt of the Warriors. People who say he isn't top 5 are being silly.
It's the Warriors. The Warriors. David Lee had a good game as well...so he clearly didn't defend anything.
It's not like he's going against robinson/olajuwon/ewing/shaq/yao ming each night.
He's the most over-rated player in the NBA today. He's another one of these guys who wants to shirk responsibility and play with his mates rather than throw a team on his back and carry them to a title.

The day he drops 45 poitns and 23 rebounds (plus 4 steals and 2 blocks - so yes he did play defense) in an Orlando crunch time win (109 - 109 with a minute to play), is probably NOT the day to say he's over rated.
What I'm saying is this: Dwight Howard can beat up on the little guy any night of the week, but he is piss weak mentally when it counts in crunch time.
He's not (with thanks to Bill Simmons) an ALPHA DOG.

he was big in crunch time today - and david lee is a top tier centre. Howard is definitely deserving (imo) of being called a top 5 player, and the games best centre.
Dwight Howard wasn't even defending David Lee, so saying he didn't defend anything is absurd, your comments sound stupid as it's obvious you weren't watching the game, and these Warriors aren't the Warriors of previous seasons, Mark Jackson has turned them into a tough group and an improving defensive team this season, and still with lacking talent at the C position, Udoh is still raw and Biedrins is non-starting material.
