M.Allen is Melb Tigers 18th import of Seamus era

Myron Allen is the Melbourne Tigers 18th import of the Seamus McPeake era. Seamus has been the owner since the 2002-2003 season. That is what you call instability.

For the record, in the 10 season prior to Seamus taking ownership, the Tigers only used 8 imports.

Take a look at the two lists below (alphabetical order);

Pre Seamus - 10 seasons

Bennett Davison
Clarence Tyson
Dave Colbert
Jarvis Lang
Jason Sedlock
Lanard Copeland
Marcus Timmons
Phil Handy

Seamus era - 10 seasons

Ayinde Ubaka
Corey Williams
Dave Thomas
Ebi Ere
Eric Devendorf
Julius Hodge
Marcus Timmons
Martin Muursepp
Matt Rueter
Mike Rose
Myron Allen
Rashad Tucker
Rod Grizzard
Ron Dorsey
Sean Lampley
Thalo Green
TJ Campbell
Zheng Wu

Anon, thanks for correcting my error. My list says Dave Colbert, where it should say Dave Simmons.

Just another quick stat, the Tigers are up to 13 different imports used in the past five seasons (including this season).

It's not quite as bad as the Kings famous stretch of 20 imports over a five season stretch, but its not far off!

How many did Seamus eat?

Vart - And will allen be the 13th import in 5 seasons (2008-2012)?

Anon - he ate them all and spat 16 out. Still ruminating on the other 2...

Julius Hodge
Mike Rose

Ayinde Ubaka
Ron Dorsey
Myron Allen

Ah, yeah, thanks Anon, I do know that.

You'd expect that if I know all of the Tigers 26 imports over the past 20 seasons then I'd also know that both Simmons and Colbert both played for them.

I made a mistake including Colbert on the list, as he last played for the Tigers in 1991, which was before the 10 year period that I was looking at (the 'Pre-Seamus' 10 years 1993 through to 2001-2002 season).

Someone should build a Gantt chart of NBL teams and the players that have played for them. Maybe with an overlay/underlay of team success.

Gleeson looks like a man under immense pressure!

He looks as though he is resigned to the fact that he will be sacked!!

Am i right in saying that as of right now only Grizzard played again in the league after being sacked?

Mike Rose and Devendorf should be given more opportunities to show themself. I still think Devendorf can play obviously has his deficiencies in D, but when looking at his game, his on ball D is actually not bad.

BJF - Dave Thomas went on to play for Cairns and then signed with NZ (can't recall if he played or not - anyone able to help out?)

Pretty sure none of the others have played NBL since the Tigers

After the Tigers:

Dave Thomas: Cairns & NZ (signed but never played)

Marcus Timmons: Perth, Cairns, NZ & Adelaide

Rashad Tucker: Cairns

Rod Grizzard: Adelaide & Sydney

Thalo Green: Sydney

Also off the top of my head from the pre-Seamus list (after the Tigers):

Bennett Davison: Gold Coast (signed but cut during pre-season)

Lanard Copeland: Brisbane & Adelaide

Phil Handy: West Sydney

Dave Thomas was signed by NZ but never took the court due to injury (knee?) and was replaced with another Import before the season started I believe.

None of those players who went on to play for other teams produced much for them, unlike when they were with the tigers e.g Timmons, Thomas, Copeland, Tucker.

I'm tipping you'll be adding Ron Dorsey to the exit list very very shortly.

Under performed again last night and with another loss pending versus GCB then Fat Guts will blow his stack again.

If I remember rightly, Dorsey was fairly average for most of last season, but was known for throwing down some very big dunks.

He turned it on a bit late in the season and in the playoffs though.

Dorsey should be sacked and they should bring in a rebounding big.

Agreed. Or at least a strong rebounding 3-4. It seems McPeake doesnt mind paying out two year deals so it might happen.

Dorsey would be a great pick-up for Gold Coast. His defence and ability in transition is exactly what they need on the wing. They have a big hole there with Goulding and Harvey out, and Deleon hasnt been getting the job done.

They also still have plenty of games left for him to qualify for the playoffs if they make it.

Not for Hudson instead?

The Blaze need size so I would think DeLeon would go before Hudson.

On "none of those ex-Tigers produced much after the Tigers" Marcus Timmons went on to win a championship with Perth in 2000 in which he was the GF MVP.

Apologies - you're right with Timmons. I missed that one - I don't think you could question the others though.
