Kevin Love signs with Minny

Kevin Love signed with Minny for 4 years, with the 4th year at his option (not the teams). The reason he did not sign with Minny was because they did not want to designate him as the 'franchise player' and tie up that money over that period.
2 questions then. Is KLove a franchise player? And will this come back to bite Minny on the but if they don't go as far as they want and he signs somewhere else in 3 1/2 years?

Good result for both parties, KLove is the real deal and Twolves are on the up and are playoff bound. Max contracts very rarely work and the TWolves to there credit are playing it safe.

Minny will be a championship contender in 2/3 seasons time (although they may even make some noise next season).

They have some great young talent across the board

Love at Center(23), Derrick Williams at PF(20), Wesley Johnson at SF(24) and Rubio at PG (21).

They also have Beasley (23), Randolph (22) and even Martell Webster is only 25.

If they can keep a solid core of those players for 2+ more seasons, then they will be a tough team in the West.

On another note, (sorry for getting off topic a bit)..Rubio is damn tall!
I have heard that he is actually around 6"5. According to the Sac. Kings, he measured 6"6 in shoes!

I don't think they can get away with playing Love at Center; he is only 6'7 1/2 without shoes (listed on draft express I think). That's not tall enough to regularly square up against the other guys (plus he does not block shots or intimidate). Can't see them playing long periods of time with him at that position.
In a side note should Minny trade Beasley now? Obv he is not in there plans (no qualifying offer) so should they try and get pieces for him?
