The program does not go past this week as it is round 10. Thus, end of a phase. During this phase change players can move between teams and teams will be moved between groups/divisions. This occurs during the summer grading season. Until these changes occur (ladders finalised for end of phase two) complete programs cannot be displayed. Not a fault with BSA just the way the summer season occurs. They will be online prior to the start of round 11. (eg, senior men's div 2 already up)

Can anyone explain then why we still have phases?

If a team dominates there division in winter, couldnt they just nominate to move up, or if they suck, could they nominate to move down?

....simple, ran like this for years, and the summer season use to mean something.

Better off now having one massive season throughout the year.

phases makes it result not request based - your suggestion makes sense - but many are in denial regarding going down a division or two - phases provides evidence of where teams should be.

how can you do it based on Winter when age groups change between winter to summer.

under 18's div 1 draw is going to be unfair, we will have two byes so that counts us out of finals

In the last 3-4 years phases have started. Take out the last few years, and grading worked fine for all those other years. You had trials at your club, you were put in the appropriate team (hopefully), you played against kids around the same ability.

You want to play higher, change clubs, or better yet, work hard at it!

The coach and coaching coordinators should be able to determine the talent they have then request the division appropriate......unfortunately silly people who run clubs love to say "we must have a div 1 team". (please dont talk about zoning from this comment, been done to death).

Look at phases in mens comp, some teams have players rest cause phases aren't worth playing, some players go away, teams are different to winter. They get graded on summer where fill-ins are used, therefore the grading is inncorrect.

Its interesting that there is only phases for div 3+. Does this mean they can get the grading right for 2 divisions then not for the rest, doesnt make sense.....especially when there would be some div3 teams out there that would beat div 2 teams.

With the next 5 rounds for the Div 1 and 2 coming out on Tuesday, I wonder how much bias we will see in the program? Each team expects to be at home 50% of the time, but with 15 rounds, a fair draw should have 7 or 8 home games. But with state rankings on the line, what team will get the 8 home games, or even more, and with travel being crucial, which clubs/teams will get a gilded run home?

I wonder what clubs will get the benefit of the 8 home games......

the same teams who benefit from an obvious compromised finals program on their home court?
Surely not.
Sugar coat it any way you want but the big 2 certainly get things on a plate with home court , home refs and no travel come finals time.
As a truly 'neutral' court sits idle because BSA don't believe in spending the dollars to maintain fairness despite all Clubs contributing to their coffers all season long.

I thought all courts were the same size obviously not. As for refs they are all the same and calls go both ways.

I think clubs should work on what they can control ie training, players and coaching programs.

When the cards fall, they seem to always appear to fall towards one club. Some "scheduling abnormalities" are normal, but how many are too many?

and in the same breathe anon 528 I hope you would would support a level playing field to reward all that training and coaching. As it stands now its glaringly obvious this is not the case.
Its a long season to fight your way to the top and get screwed in a lop-sided arrangement openly in favour of certain Clubs.

U14Boys Norwood 4 teams out of 6 in 3A.

Is this really working ?

Yes. If Norwood are good enough to end up with 4 teams in that grade, so be it. It's better then that 4th team belting everyone by 50+ in div 5 from both sides (those getting whipped and those doing the whipping).
If only we could apply the same to the division 1 and 2 grades! But that would require some action on the BSA front...
