That's probably the easiest award a journalist can win, the NBL award. It's not like there's much competition out there, with all the coverage the league currently 'enjoys'

It's actually the Basketball Writer of the year award which spans the whole sport in Australia.

A great honour for Boti, regardless of who he was up against. I'm sure that the other Journo's would have been happy to receive it.

#356189 thought the same ! the head will get a lot bigger and the redundant ramblings without listening properly first, will continue. hes the only paid journalist for basketball, because it only really needs 1. any more than 1 would be a waste LOL. pretty funny to win an award for something when there are no other contenders whod even think its worth doing it for a full time job !

If it's basketball why doesn't he write about the NBA or Aussie players in Europe?

He does sometimes, I've read a few NBA articles from him in the past. They're of a pretty reasonable standard too.

I think some on here are forgetting all the WNBL articles he writes too.

Ah, all the Boti haters are coming out in force again. As has previously been noted Boti does a lot for basketball reporting in this state, and yes he does write articles other than about the NBL and WNBL. If the haters bothered to read the by-line (that means who writes the article) then they would note stories about local basketball (CABL etc), NBA and WNBA plus reporting on the Boomera and Opals and also players in Europe. So to all the Boti haters -please try to focus on the articles and not necessarily who writes them. Don't forget that Boti also wrote the Brett Maher (36ers LEGEND) and has often been interviewed on TV for his incite about basketball in AUSTRALIA. He is highly respected as journalist throughout the country. Boti haters - BUILD A BRIDGE AND GET OVER IT!!!!!!

He is far more knowledgeable than any of the so called Basketball Journalists here in NZ, I read most of his stuff and think he was a deserving recipient.

He's a brilliant writer, like him or not. Knows the game inside out and entertains as well as informs. No one else in the print media comes close to him.

thanks boti's daughter - hope he has insight into basketball rather than incite basketball.

bc nobody wants to ? he rambles too much and rehashes the same stuff over and over again. he wants everybody to listen to him but his own listening ability or reluctance - call it what you want - is very poor from all accounts.
