NBL Fixture suggests no new Melb team yet?

New Melbourne team has until COB today to commit to next season.
10 team fixture was completed 1 mth ago and distributed to clubs for final approval.

NBL has now emailed clubs advising a NEW 9 team fixture is being worked on and will be released in the next 48 hrs.

I'd say that's curtains for the new Melb team next season.

Pershaps Larry's resignation is a hint for that too.

Word around is it will fall at the last hurdle and won't be in next year.

Looks like they are desperatly trying to iron out a few minor issues..but looks like they won't be ready in time unless the NBL give them more time

Is it feasible that when this team comes in for 3-5 years then disappears then another Melbourne team is brought in a few years later can have the same name/colors etc? Is this the type of thing the Nbl could possibly look at enforcing?

No matter how sound their business plan is or was, this "franchise" should have to wait at least a full season after their debut announcement to enter the league. Why does nobody learn from past mistakes of rushed, unsustainable expansion?
