Payne was with Townsville. Quality young player and a great addition to the Lightning front court. A little surprising to me since she is a Townsville local.

laura does not have abbys outside shot but i feel she has more post moves - a bit more agile.

Dunkin"Dan Regarding Nadeen Payne heard she was hard done by .(only 1 offer ever made not what was reported) . People shouldnt believe everything they read in the paper as Media reports are not always 100% correct. Of course the club would want to make sure they LOOKED like they were doing the right thing by her but really if they were interested they would have kept in contact with her for the last month even if she was on the free agents list as many of the girls were . Just Maybe its got something to do with the coach. All the best to her, agreed a great addition for Adelaide and a huge disappointment for the locals in Townsville. Was a Townsville Fire Fan for many years but they have lost me over this as now no true locals are in the team at all to support.

There was definitely something that didn't add up between what Payne was saying and what the Fire were saying. There would have been plenty of teams interested in securing her services though.
If she really is serious about getting into the Opals team (and there's no reason for her not to be - she is young, talented, and besides the ageing LJ the 4 spot is wide open) then Adelaide seems like one of the better choices.
