QBL Goss

I see Heal the kings coach is coaching Ipswich in QBl, why are they letting him do this?

Some good talent in the league this year, players I know of that are involved (is it the strongest state league in aus?):

ben allen
brad/drew williamson
michael kingma
chris goulding
brenden teys
russ hinder
mitch norton
cedar brothers
aaron grabau
scott mcgregor
christan salecich (college off season)
ant petrie
will hudson
rhys martin

among others.

Is it a stronger league than seabl?

Keep telling yourself that.

If the Spartans moved back to QBL you might have a point however they haven't and you are only playing the 3rd tier league

for a 3rd tier comp pertty decent of them to have the recent run of national champs before it was done away with. the top QBL teams as good as the top seabl teams fact.

your right hasnt been one for a while 2008 was the last, but dont under estimate the top teams in the QBL. Mackay, Rockhampton, Cairns are all very good teams throw in Townsville and Gold coast last year. its a top heavy comp though.

So who is playing for who?

Kingma, Vanderjagt, Martin & M Cedar in Mackay
Williamson & Philp in Rocky + 2 imports
Blanchfield, Norton, C Cedar, Tudehope, Hinder in Townsville
Vale, Grabau, Brebner in Cairns
Aucoin, Mcgregor, Salecich in GC
Allen for Ipswich

Goulding, Teys, Broome, Gleeson, Petrie, Hudson must be spread around the other south teams?

Kenny Barnes (ex LA Defender) is playing for Sth West

anyone fill in the gaps?

Isaac, why is this troll?
Seems like a fair question that if the QBL currently have this many good quality players then maybe the standard is similar to SEABL?

I don't know enough about QBL but I do know that the CABL does not have this tallent and some of the CABL teams would push Mt Gambier Pioneers

It's an interesting question, the biggest issue that the QBL has is the drop off in talent. The smaller teams flat out cannot compete with the powerhouses. Teams like Cairns, Rocky, Mackay, Townsville, Northside when they spend up beat up on the Toowoombas, Maroochy etc. SEABL does have the same problem but not to the smae extent, NW Tas and Albury come to mind as whipping boys.
In the last few years of the national t'ment it was the QLD teams with the runs on the boards.
From what I have seen the SBL doesn't have the same punch as the top tier QBL teams.
SEABL/QBL top teams are pretty much on par.

Senior level BB in QLD is a mess with competitions all hating each other and BQ not seeming to have control. QB could be the best State league in the country if they could get it all together. GC think they are a totally separate power.
Goulding has a few injuries to repair so maynot make it back till August he says. Heal and Ipswich came to an agreement, which was good to see for a change, and Shane will be able to fill most of his earlier commitment to them. Ben Thompson able to get some HC experience earlier than expected.

1. NBL
2.SEABL
3.QBL (just)
4.big v
5.SBL
6.waratah/cabl

Top teams in QBL and 1 or 2 (Eltham/waverley) would be very competitive in SEABL but it cones Down to being 8/9 deep over a long season.

After top 4 in QBL the rest lack depth as per top 2 big v teams from last year.

Ive played in both comps and SEABL is a deff a better, stronger comp than QABL. not taking anything away from QABL but SEABL is a really tuff comp.
