Live stats here

Tip-off at 6pm WST.

Wonder if the Taipans will play their imports? What's Loughton's status?

Cairns win 91-80. Missing from each team - unless I missed anyone - Loughton, Wilson (well, two minutes), Grabau; Knight, Robbins and Hire?

Hire & Robbins still injured! Knight maybe they are keeping him in cotton wool?

Jamar had a little bit of soreness so wasn't worth the risk, and Clint went down with a cramp so he'll back up tonight

Wilson has hardly played this pre-season, wonder if there is something more than we are being told?

They know Wilson and he knows their system. Might not be crucial to play him into the group as it would be for other imports around the league. Means they're more likely to rest him through minor issues, same with Loughton or Grabau, etc.

Preseason is not worth any minor injury or rushing back from injury, especially for players already that have been with the club.

From Taipans:

"First choice point guard Jamar Wilson played less than two minutes as he continued to ice a knee he injured in Tamworth against the Kings last week."

Jamar bruised his knee prior to the tamworth series so its steady steady in the lead up to the blitz - nothing major. The focus has been on the younger guys, Shane the new import (killed it game 1 v Perth - being saved for the blitz) and getting Kerry W up to NBL fitness levels.

Dusty has some bone floating around the end of a finger but its not major. Grabau is on track, Loughton's 1st game back showed the rust but he is looking dangerous with trig just killing it at both ends with Shane looking deadly at range and point blank.

Cam Gliddon came back from injury v Perth and looks to be a thinking man's baller. Clint S has been suffering cramps alot during games - product of the hard training schedule of the Taips and some hydration issues but nothing to worry about as they are adjusting his hydration and Cam G's back into the rotation.

Apart from the 1st game v Perth, its been pretty much a bench team on for the preseason games - this team has got swagger and every game they learn about how to win without the big players. A full strength Taipans in a couple of weeks is going to be a daunting site indeed.
