Depends on the criteria. Which combination would win a series at their respective peaks? Are you allowing for past athletes to hypothetically train in the modern era?
Couple that could be considered:
Bill Russell. 11 championships, five MVPs, 12 All-Star appearances.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Six championships, six MVPs, 19 All-Star appearances.
In Russell's era, there were far fewer teams I think so could it be argued that it was easier to win MVP awards and championships than it was through Shaq's era and especially now? MVP is a pretty tough race these days.

This is my All NBA Team from when I started following the league in 1987. I just can't debate or argue about something like 'Shaq was better than Wilt’ when I’ve never seen Wilt play a single game.
