Jacobs and Maric in for both Eagles ruckmen. NicNats selection is a disgrace. Hitouts are just about a ruckmans most important job. He is ranked 16th in the league for avg hitouts a game. He played two or three amazing games for the year and the rest were average.

No reason to have 4 mids on the bench.

Take out Nat (needs 1 or 2 more years), move Cox to Ruck (he is not one of the 6 best forwards in the AFL).
Take out Deleido and Kennedy, add Jacobs and Pav to the bench.

Makes the bench look more realistic, 2 mids, 1 ruck and a forward/utility.

Isaac - 'Fairest' doesnt really come into it at all at a club level. A player could be suspended but still win the clubs award. Basically is just for 'Best'

I often dislike the wording for sports awards. The AFL Player Association MVP award for instance went to Gary Ablett.

When your team finishes 17th out of 18 teams, how does that make you the most valuable player in the league?

Call it the Most Outstanding Player award maybe, not valuable.

Same argument was being had with Khazzouh two seasons ago.

I agree with that Skip. As good as Ablett is, and he is a champion, the Gold Coast would have had exactly the same record without him playing.

The Nic Nat thing is bullshit, as is Rioli being there instead of about a dozen other small forwards, and Sam Mitchell not being in the team.

Pavlich not making the team is a disgrace. Was the best forward during the 2nd half of the year. Was the only reason Freo were in the finals.

Dempster / Milne both in the side, Saints didnt even make the finals.

Similar with Richmond, Cotchin deserves to be there, however Reilly should have been on the bench replacing Delidio.

Jacobs or Maric had better years than Nic Nat.

Pavlich, Jacobs should have made the team.

Gibson should be in the backline ...

Keeps racking up the stand out defensive stats ... not necessarily huge possession stats, but massive numbers of spoils ... which is what key defenders are supposed to do.

Holds the whole Hawthorn backline together and allows Birchall and co to do the mopping up ...

Sorry to digress but I have always wondered this, why 'All Australian'? in comparison to the "All Italian" or "All Mexican" teams that have been named for Australian Rules Football?

Should just give the players an over sense of an achievement and call it what it is, the 'All World' team..
