West Adelaide Bearcats to celebrate 1982 NBL win!

Hello SA Basketball fans!

The West Adelaide Basketball Club is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its 1982 NBL premiership in a ceremony at the Port Adelaide Recreation Centre on Saturday December 1 2012, the first NBL Championship for SA!

The Bearcats will also be announcing the first round of inductees into their newly created "Hall of Fame".

The event kicks off at 7.00pm at Port Adelaide Stadium
Adults are $10 a ticket with gold coin donation for kids.
A bar service is available on the night with some finger food served.

If you have ever been involved with the Bearcats as a player, coach, official or a supporter, then come along to what will be a wonderful night! It will be a great chance meet and hear from some West Adelaide, South Australian and Australian Legends who are coming into Adelaide especially for this event... Leroy Loggins, Pat Mickan, Ken Richardson, Brad Dalton,Werner Linde, Glenn Marsland, Alan Dawe, Al Green, Ken Cole, Frank Arsego, Rachael Sporn, Mike McKay and more!

Won't be able to make the Westies celebration but would be great to see these guys honoured at the Sixers' game the following day v Sydney. They're a big part of our history. I was but a wee lad when they won but remember it like it was yesterday.

The '82 win was certainly a milestone and a proud point in SA Basketball.

How many other local clubs can lay claim to a NBL title?

Yes, the 1982 team will be on court at half time at the kings game...Loggins, Green, Dalton, Richardson etc....should be awesome!

1990 as well as runners up in 1981 and 1988. West were also runners up in the WNBL in 1984 as well as Noarlunga in 1985.

Nope frank was in the Bearcat Youth Team that played in the curtan raiser to the GF in Newcastle. The NBL team was;

Richardson
Dalton
Wood
Ali
Theil
Maddiford
Dawe
