Matt Knight calf injury scans

Perth Wildcats centre Matt Knight faces a nervous wait on scans set to determine the extent of damage to his right calf muscle today.
The Wildcats arrived home last night and coach Rob Beveridge said Knight, who tore his left calf muscle two years ago and tweaked his right calf last season, would be sent to a specialist today.

"We're going to get him checked out. We don't know (how bad the damage is)," Beveridge said.

"As soon as he came down the court he just felt it grab and was cramping up so we got him out straight away and put him on ice.

Not too subtle dig at the competence of the Crocs from Bevo?
"You'd be under the assumption, being a professional basketball league, that they would have medical supplies," Beveridge said.

"We had to send him (Robbins) back to the doctor's surgery after the game because they had no medical supplies at all.
Robbins may miss the Cats' next game.

I dont think "brain" is one of the items that an NBL team needs to carry in its medical supply kit.

Medical supplies count in the cap? Crocs prob try and fit that in the points cap! What a disgrace for a club not to have that! Amazing. Alot ove cost cutting. Prob next season they may make the team bring there own seats to sit on the bench!!

If Knight can't return for a few weeks, Wildcats could be digging a hole provided Adelaide and Sydney keep winning..

Perth face Sydney (twice) and Adelaide (once) over the next five weeks. Wollongong the other two games. If Knight can't play.. ouch

The Situation

If a home team stops a player potentially returning to the court mid-game because they don't have the equipment/supplies to stitch a player up, then I'd say they deserve more than a subtle dig.

Ivan mcfarlin would be a good option or even maybe an Eric Gaff.

Maybe even Lester Strong. Played with the Singapore Slingers in a preseason tourney that played against Perth. Did reasonably well so maybe worth or a shot. Or just get another import.
