Fixture isn't being released on the website until 3 or so days beforehand to avoid confusion when there are fixture changes.

Fixtures have already been sent out to clubs. Contact your club if you are desperate for the fixture

Last season ranked no. 7 high school nationally - ? What team they have sent. Refs will have to manage travel interpretations and time outs being called by players USA style

Apparently the Texas team are run by Mark Cubans brother and are flying out here on a private jet! All homeschooled kids I believe

The USA team will have to adjust to how we call the game thankyou very much....

there will have to be an equal balance - yes they will have to play to how we call the game - but a bit of give and take - his is a huge PR win to get a team of this calibre over here - i know the frustration in years gone by of no 24 sec clock at nunawading - so habit will mean dont be surprised if the inbounding playing asks the ref for a time out or a little foot shuffle pre dribble usa style.

Got no issue with telling an in-bounding player they can't have a time out because our rules don't allow it or warning the coach before the game that 2 steps before a dribble is a travel, what i do have an issue with is allowing 1 team to have an advantage at OUR tournament that 999 other teams don't get just because they play to different rules at home.
We don't need to pander to this team, just treat them to great hospitality, respect and goodwill, but the rules are the rules, its up-to them to adjust, not us.

Any word on the 12s girls A and B Vic teams Dandenong side ?

Reply #400644 | Report this post

Fixtures are now out.

Thoughts on 16A and 18A boys and girls?

Some good representation in A grade from Dandenong, Melbourne and Nunawading having a couple 2 teams competing up there. Any that can contend?

16A girls : Dandenong 2, Melbourne 2, Sandringham 2, Hawthorn 2

16A boys : Bulleen 2, Dandenong 2, Nunawading 2

18A girls : Melbourne 2, Dandenong 2, Nunawading 2

18A boys : Melbourne 2

18 Boys A Grade is looking quite interesting! Melbourne 2 has come out with 2 wins and 1 loss whilst Melb 1 with 1 win, 1 loss and a draw with Sturt. Flower Mounds has yet to face defeat but only overcame DV by 5. Waverley, Flower Mound, Keilor and Eltham have yet to drop a game. Thoughts on this?

Melbourn 18 Boys (1) finish 4th and miss finals - Melbourne 18 Boys (2) finish second???

Can't work that one out - is it the Pool groupings or have Melbourne picked wrong players in the (1) team!

Any thoughts on why?

Reply #401130 | Report this post

Melbourne 2 also just missed finals by percentage to McKinnon whom Melb 2 defeated 41-37. Melbourne 1 had their Australian players minus their 7 footer so no mistake with player selection. Did anyone see Melb 1 and 2 play?

Crap tournament, means nothing, great opportunity for players to get injured when they should be resting.

Resting ?? What about getting ready for the season to start ? Most clubs use it as a form of preseason as there is nothing like playing 5 games to get fitness levels back up. My money is on that your a reg4 coach who got thumped and has no real interest in the game anyway.
