Just type in Australian Country Cup Basketball in google follow section through all results are there. Under 14 Girls did a great job in playing off for the gold medal but lost to NZ by 4.

I'm confused by the purpose of this event now.

New Zealand are competing? Oceania? Australian Country Cup. Oh and no teams from Queensland. Is it considered an actual Junior Nationals run by Basketball Australia? If so where's the Metro equivilent?

Wouldn't it make sense to run the SA Junior Country Championships prior to Albury as part of an open selection process for ALL players?

Lots of Metro referees at the event. Where are the country refs?

Seems like just another tournament run under the guise of a Nationals or for Country players which has turned into a money maker and a contest to be as big as possible.

good points anon.

think you will find sa junior country champs are held towards the end of most country associations seasons - as many only mainly play over summer.

If that is true, the toothless tiger that is SACBC will do nothing about it anyway.

If that is correct how many indiscretions/incidents does JB have on his record now? C'Mon SA Country Basketball show some balls & move this clown on. Or as stated above will the toothless tiger mentality continue to go on at SA Country Basketball?

The AJCBC is a junior basketball development event for which teams from country Australia, NZ and Oceania (18's age group only) are all invited to send teams to play one another over a week long tournament so that the best kids available can compete at a high level and it is also used as a selection for some stat country National teams.

The fact that QLD doesn't go may be something to do with politics and the recent withdrawal from the Pacific Slam by Victorian team, not sure...?

What you do get at this event is a chance for players, coaches and officials to develop and be a part of a higher level of competition that some have been to before, among other more obvious things, the event is a highlight for some people!

Oh, for the post I observed the SA boys 16's and 18's teams play and there were some talented kids for sure.

Just not the depth of talent that NSW and Vic seem to have right now, but those SA teams I watched played hard and never gave up, good effort by all concerned.

The most disappointing thing for me as a parent was the number of other parents who were walking around the stadiums mid week having information on the national team selections even before the squads are announced. (officially)

Is this a credible program??????

Do metro have leaks???

I saw some kid from Tasmania in U14 playing SA, 6'1 size 16 shoes, and from what a parent told me, his first year of basketball.....one to watch.

Totally agree with Jax!!
SAC have now posted the results from the U13 teams which participated in the Eltham Carnival along with highest point scorers from each game. This has never been done before, was it done this time because someone's son happened to be the main scorer??

^^^If that is true that clearly shows how SA Country Basketball has transcended in to a laughing stock of the whole entire country!
