@Dillon: Why do you put the D-League under the NBL?

And by CBA do you mean Chinese Basketball Association or Continental?

I would have thought that:
*Considering the amount of D League players who have gone on to have careers in the NBA
*Its reputation among players, coaches and the scouts due to the previous point
*And the fact that many quality NBA rookies are first sent to D-League to improve their skills

would make it much higher in league rankings

NBL would be above the d- league, d league players come to the nbl too, and the reason so many d league players would go to the nba, is becuase it is a direct connection with the nba, a decent player in the nbl would proberly have a better chance at getting tnto the nba if they went to the d-league first. and concidering d league players get paid a third of what nbl players get paid, many players would proberly rather play in the nbl.
Also, the d league teams get a fraction of the attendance the nbl gets
there biggest team average in the d league is 4,817.
and most teams in the d league average is around 2,000- 3,000

@NBL King Yeah I know D League players come to the NBL too....they're usually the ones that have very little chance of getting into the NBA.

Sure there are exceptions to the rule (Flynn etc) but the reason most quality U.S. players would choose to stay in D-League instead of playing in NBL, despite the lesser crowds and lower $, is because their chances of getting an NBA berth are many multiples higher if they stay.

And these days, with the low salary cap in the NBL, the money is not as much of a factor as it once was. The best of the D-League players consider themselves (and are on the cusp of being) NBA quality players. It is their dream and the most important thing to them, And if it means putting up with shitty crowds and average $ they'll do it because it is the end goal that counts.

If you look at the number of players, per year, that go from the D-League to the NBA compared to the number of NBL players per year there just is no comparison.

And that's why D-League is going to remain, for the foreseeable future, a much higher standard than the NBL with an infinitely higher player skill level.

I would actually put Euroleague above NBA. The players don't travel on an inbound, don't get nearly as looked after by refs if big money players, etc etc.

Would love to see top 5 euro vs top 5 NBA in a post season tournament. Would be interesting to see the results, especially if played by the proper FIBA rules

D-League is an absolute joke. The Chinese League is better.

Easy to draw line between NBL and VTB. Earl Rowland,
Jamar Wilson leading scorers, Tye McKee top player Alex Maric leading rebounder. Simple comparrison.
You be judge.

1 NBA
2 Euroleague
3 Spain
4 VTB United
5 Turkey
6 Italy
7 NBL
8 Adriatic
9 Greece
10 Germany

I dont count the Eurocup as a league because of how big the turnover of teams is each year, as opposed to Euroleague which has licences.

I should add, the difference between any of the top leagues through Europe and indeed the NBL is not that great. The level of basketball is definitely evening out as more countries invest more in the sport.

Another question: what leagues that have higher salaries than the NBL have a lower quality standard?

I'd say Chinese league, British league, not sure of salaries of second tier euro leagues such as German, Belgian, Dutch etc

People rating the Greek League way too low. Almost no one here has ever seen a European basketball game based on those rankings.

LMFAO at anyone saying French League, Turkish League, Adriatic League, Italian League is better than Greek League.

Bunch of clowns.

You guys are absolutely insane.

British League has lower salaries than NBL. The leagues in Germany and Belgium are not that low level. They are as good or better than NBL is.

Dutch League is crap. NBL is definitely much better than that league.

@ Guru

"Dutch League is crap."

You won't say that when Michael Beasley is lighting it up before, during, and after games (once his gig in PHX is up).
