World Team Beats USA AGAIN At Nike Hoops Summit

If the NBA is so "vastly superior" to basketball in the rest of the world, then why did Team USA lose AGAIN to the world team at the Nike Hoops Summit?

The best of the best of the best American players got beat, once again, by the world team, which was missing a lot of its top players.

The world team was missing many of the top players like the Adetokoubo brothers (Giannis and Thanasis), Mario Hezonja, Alex Abrines, Dimitry Kulagin, etc.

So basically, the world team, minus a bunch of its best players, beat the US team (rather easily) and yes, it is the 2nd year in a row.

But somehow we are supposed to believe the TROLLS in this forum that the USA basketball and the NBA (all of these American players will end up in the NBA - most as lotto picks), is somehow "vastly superior" to basketball everywhere else.

OH REALLY?????????????????

Yeah, no wonder David Stern is so scared of an NBA all star game featuring USA versus the world in NBA players or NBA versus Euroleague. Both have been proposed and he has denied both.

Of course he has, he can just look at the Nike Hoops Summit and he can see the rest of the world just embarrass the American style of basketball.

Hey FUBAR, do you realise that America is only one country? World equals many countries! They should win. Are you suggesting that America doesn't make the best players? Wow, a victory in junior basketball means nothing. Of coarse there are great international players that are going to play NBA, but I am not understanding the point you are making. America is the benchmark and it is as simple as that.

The gap is really closing. Team USA beat Spain for the Gold medal by only 7 points at last years Olympics. With Coach K gone and Ricky Rubio back, don't be surprised to see an upset at the next Worlds

Team USA could field 3 teams at the WC's and have a good shot at finishing 1st, 2cnd and 3rd

5.8 billion people talent pool vs. 0.2 billion people talent pool. It ain't exactly advanced calculus.

There are great players internationally and great players from America.

What else you got?

To anyone talking about this competition or Olympic competition, you're missing the fact that the supposed dispute is over the strongest league in the world. One key thing seems to slip by FUBAR and co:

The best from Spain's Olympic team and the best from this world team at a summit comp will, umm, generally play in the NBA.

If the NBA is so "vastly superior" to basketball in the rest of the world, then why did Team USA lose AGAIN to the world team at the Nike Hoops Summit?
Because the NBA includes players from all countries. The summit game in particular is just USA vs World (obviously).

Of Spain's national team, Gasol, Gasol, Calderon, Claver, Ibaka all play for NBA teams. I think four of the rest have played for NBA teams in the past too.

If you're really only arguing against those who think the NBA is "vastly superior", I don't know how many people are in that group and not just in a "superior" camp.

Biggest thing about it was TEAM USA don't shoot the jumper/3 at the junior level.

The TEAM USA are such superior athletes that at High School they are told to just attack the rim and not really worry about working on it.

Hence the World team played alot of Zone to negate the peneration of Team USA.

Dante had 16 points off the bench, and received rave reviews all around.

Maybe in the past Team USA were better athletes with great individual skills, but that advantage seems to have disappeared.

As Tiger Watcher said, Team USA doesn't emphasise the importance of the 3-pointer.

Exum was nearly faultless and only played 22 minutes in coming off the bench.

Dante Exum: He did not start in this game but he played very impressive in his time on the court. Even though he could play college ball this upcoming season if he wanted to, he has made the decision to play prep school ball in the states next year before he picks a college. Which ever college lands Exum will be very lucky. Should definitely be a Top 5 player in the 2014 Senior class along with Okafor, Jones and his World teammate Towns. As of right now I am projecting Exum to be a lottery pick at the leastt for the 2015 draft. Him and Ben Simmons will make Australia a powerful team in the future.

Exum had a great game coming off the bench, and according to this article, Exum is geading to prep school in the USA next season instead if college...

Some comments from DraftExpress on the game and Exum...

http://www.draftexpress.com/article/2013-Nike-Hoop-Summit-Game-Recap-4149/

Getting significant contributions from most of the players on its roster, this World Select Team will likely go down as one of the best the event has ever had when we look back at it a few years from now.

Dante Exum had a phenomenal game as well, showcasing his ball-handling ability, speed, and skill level en route to 16 points. Making a number of impressive moves attacking the rim, Exum demonstrated just how dynamic he can be with the ball in his hands, even if he didn't get to run the point as frequently as he has in FIBA competition. His college decision in one to keep a close eye on, as it will determine when he can become eligible for the NBA draft. He is draft eligible next year as an international prospect, but would have to wait until the 2015 draft to enter should he attend college.

Hey dipshit......I'm sure you realise none of these kids play in the NBA right???

And whomever said there will possibly be an upset at the next Worlds.... Team USA won the final by 17, there average winning margin was 20.7ppg. Add to the fact the best of the International Players seem to not worry about the World Championships as much as the Olympic Games choosing to generally have much needed off season surgery and miss the worlds.

FUBAR,

Because this is a high school select team v a rest of the world team.

Team USA selects over a 10-15 year age span while at Worlds and Olympics other countries select individually.

That said, the 2nd and 3rd US teams would struggle with Russia, France and others.

FUBAR, reading your posts is like listening to KG Cunningham on the radio talking about basketball. You are both totally clueless.

Please tell me you've just started following basketball, because I can't think of any other logical reason for your naive ill-informed posts.

Please stop with this rubbish, because you are just embarrassing yourself.

The USA team in the Olympics had several of their best players injured from the team. How would Spain go if several of their best players were out? They would obviously get smashed.
