Bevo asked for Cats contract to be shortened?

Below is a copy of an article written in 2011 which said that Rob Beveridge had just signed for two more years with the Cats.

This would indicate that he was signed until the end of the next season (2013/14!!!!)

Why is he now reported to be a free agent and deciding between staying with Perth or taking other options.

I reckon the Cats dont want him to stay and have asked him to look elswhere?????

Rob Beveridge

RE-SIGNED: Perth Wildcats coach Rob Beveridge has agreed to a two-year contract extension, tying him to the NBL club until at least the end of 2013-14 season.
PERTH Wildcats coach Rob Beveridge has penned a new deal to keep him at the NBL club until at least the end of the 2013-14 season.

Beveridge, currently in the third year of his contract, joined the Wildcats in mid-2009 as the replacement for embattled former coach Connor Henry and has enjoyed plenty of success during his stint with the club.

It hasnt been reported as to the reasons why but Beveridge had requested his free agency to begin earlier.

I would assume it had to do with his desire to become Boomers coach.

Pissed off Wildcats management by doing so.

Current Situation.

In the West Australian today it said that the Wildcats had cut his contract by a year because Beveridge had asked if he could become a free agent so that he could apply for the boomers job.
