Grant Hill Announces Retirement

http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/9332928/grant-hill-retires-nba-19-seasons

I'm surprised nobody has posted this up since yesterday and it's worthy of posting.

The legendary Grant Hill has called time on his career after 19 seasons.

After leaving the Pistons for the Magic, he battled many ankle injuries, but eventually came back and stayed healthy. Became a bit of a defensive specialist.

I think the man is a legend and deserves a place in the Hall of Fame.

What are your thoughts and tributes?

Pros: For his college career and first five seasons alone, he's probably a HOF'er. Last few seasons were pretty decent too for a guy his age.

Cons: Never been in the finals. Horror run of injuries after those first five seasons robbed him of his prime.

One of the bigger "what could have been" stories in NBA history. Such a shame.

If Hill stayed healthy and Duncan went to the Magic like it was looking like he would, the last decade of the NBA would have turned out very different indeed.

Should've won a ring in 2010 if refball didn't rob the suns in the WCF (mainly game 5)

Ingles lol.

Those suspensions were levied by the league not the refs.

And The Spurs were the better team anyway.

2010 - where artest jumps all over Richardson and gets a game winning tip in (after a HORRIBLE Kobe chuck) and there's no call

The 2007 suspensions were horrible anyway but I don't think Hill was on the team yet.

One of the more well liked players of recent times and seems like a pretty decent guy but in his prime just never had enough playoff success with the Pistons & Magic. Never played in an NBA Finals series much like his former Suns teammate Steve Nash.

The Suns could have won Game 6 at home against the Lakers. That would have helped them get to the finals to win that championship.

And would they have beaten the Celtics?
