Broekhoff & Exum to play @ Adidas Eurocamp 2013

Interesting to note that graduating senior Ryan Broekhoff and AIS graduate Dante Exum are adding an Aussie flavour to this year's Adidas Eurocamp to be held in Italy from 8-10 June.

Teams also participating this year include the under-18 adidas USA Select, the under-20 men's basketball national team from France and the under-19 men’s national team from Serbia. For the first time, adidas EUROCAMP Next Generation, an elite program to enhance both on-court and life skills, joins the event and features the top under-16 European players. Dimitris Itoudis (former Panathinaikos BC assistant coach and European professional basketball player) and Marcelo Nicola (former European professional basketball player) will attend as coaches for adidas EUROCAMP Next Generation.

Will be a great chance for Broekhoff in particular to show what he is capable of, whilst for Exum, a good test against older opponents.

This year's EuroCamp is especially intriguing, as it will not only feature a number of potential (and future) first round picks inRudy Gobert,Lucas Nogueira,Nemanja NedovicandDante Exum, but will also bring in a wide range of additional prospects for NBA scouts to evaluate from outside the traditional camp roster.

Team USA won't be the only players flying in from America. AustralianRyan Broekhoffwill participate coming off a stellar college career at Valparaiso. He attended the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in Virginia in April and while considered a fringe NBA prospect, is certain to at the very least have a long and successful career at the European level thanks to his high basketball IQ and Dutch passport.

There are a number of extremely interesting prospects here that could become major factors in the 2014 NBA Draft, starting with AustralianDante Exum. Fresh off a terrific showing at the Nike Hoop Summit, Exum is a lottery caliber prospect that may elect to attend college (possibly at Indiana?)...

According to NBADraft.net, Exum pulled out of Eurocamp with a stress fracture injury!

...a number of high profile prospects that were expected to participate ended up having to pull out for various reasons: Rudy Gobert (food poisoning), Dante Exum (stress fracture), and Livio Jean Charles (unknown)

And DraftExpress on Ryan Broekhoff:

-One of the most seasoned players here, Valparaiso wing Ryan Broekhoff has been very consistent this week. As he showed throughout his four year career , he's a smart, versatile player who does the little things on both ends, whether it is being vocal on defense, making the extra pass on offense, or knocking down his open threes. Lacking great athleticism, Broekhoff's NBA future is questionable, but there is little doubt that he could blend at a high level on the European scene in time and potentially earn some looks from NBA teams down the road.

Some tweets overnight from Jonathan Givony

"Dante Exum was at the EuroCamp this week but was unable to compete due to injury. He told me he's planning on being in Prague for the U19 WC1 Retweet

According to Dante Exum's family, right now Dante is strongly leaning toward going to college. That's his #1 option at this point.

Some new info coming from Dante Exum's family: According to them, Dante will not play professionally in Australia prior to college or the NBA"

I didnt think NBL was ever a option!
