It didn't happen today it was on game day! That's any day last week, Div 4 usually indicates 14-18's age group highly unlikely we talking anything higher. Poaching from Div 4?

What a random post to create, if you got something to say then say it!

This poster is about as vague as saying: "I had lunch today! The meal was sooo fantastic. You should guys should all get down to the place real quick and check it out!"

Wasn't sturt - not particularly concerned at outing the clubs but disappointed that div 4s are being canvassed on game day by our opponents.

How do you know it wasn't a friend, I see inter club banter between players etc all the time. Your statement is vague!

Wtf's previous disdain for Woodville leads me to believe we're dealing with a Magic parent.

Oh, joy.

That's a good idea. I think we should also be looking at those div3 players who aren't able to move up and provide them with that opportunity.

It's not like magic can look after them.

Everyone is doing it so get on with the poaching ,players are not paid players.

fantastic to see at least 2 parties were concerned for young players development and provide them with a viable pathway..

not like the Magic lies to unsuspecting newbie parents..

Reply #430874 | Report this post

I say go forth and poach away, if the clubs concerned can't provide an environment of progression and development then all their kids should look else where!!! I hear Sturt is the biggest poacher and all the power to them for offering the only true elite pathways in the state. Don't think of it as poaching, think of it as offering opportunities that other clubs fail to meet.

Of course Sturt provide the only proper pathway in SA. They have a collector group of clubs being the 9 district clubs and now perhaps Magic. These clubs either then feed players direct to Sturt or via their elite program (aka ex SASI). I would not be surprised if they reinforced this structure by having PM being transferred to BSA in a paid role to ensure no elite athletes are lost to their catchment process.

Would certainly be a sad day if BSA were as successful as Sturt.

Oh wait!! No it wouldn't.

Wasn't that Mesecke and his sidekick coaching the SA Metro 16 Boys?

How successful were they?

Can't poach at state level.

Sturt and PM's "success" like all regimes is on it's way down the back end of the peak.

Watch the finals results.

Tail end? Didn't they win nearly everything at State Champs this year?

Not to mention their results at classics either.

As I understand it, Sturt are already training in preperation for next years div 1/2 State Champs.

And looking at the ladders, I think only 1 of their teams in div 1, and none of their 1st teams in div 2 will miss finals.

CAn you name another club in a similar position?
