Maher re-joins 36ers in community role

Adelaide 36ers icon, triple-championship captain Brett Maher is back with the NBL club, working to rebuild its community interaction.

The three-time Olympian and dual-Larry Sengstock Medallist will coordinate school visits, junior basketball camps, community events and liaising with local basketball clubs.
"We have a number of exciting new community programs to roll out and we are certain Brett will not only achieve this, but increase our community awareness in the process."

The new NBL Pty Ltd is keen for former players and club stalwarts to be reintegrated in similar such capacities, linking the rejuvenated competition with its past.

Great move. Name that still rings bells for the young and old, which will help bridge any gap between fan bases.

Fantastic appointment. Apart from being a great player and captain, great, personable bloke who relates well with kids. He will stir up a lot of interest.

It's akin to the Crows appointing "The Roo" to a similar position.

Credit where it is due. The last couple of months the changes at the 36ers has been nothing but good. I went to the members forum and thought "sounds good but heard it before", seems this time it was said by someone who meant it.
Looking forward to whats still to come and the season ahead.

Yeah be a great idea for 36ers to look at this merch opportunity. I hope Brett has consistent involvement with all the district and BSA associated clubs.
