Pioneers secure top spot in the south

In the final weekend of games the pioneers secured top spot in the first game of a road double.

The pioneers beat the top of east conference bendingo braves in bendingo and comfortably. It was endigo first home loss of the season in what ws their last home game in the regular season.

The win was even more impressive as the pioneers were without Eze burdon and Ben Allen only played minimal minutes because of early foul trouble.

The pioneers got to as much as 25 points before the braves came back at them but they held on to get the impressive victory.

Interestingly it means tonight's game Geelong v Knox will determine who ends up on top of East with home court advantage...

Much incentive now...

Go Supercats!!

So much at stake and the Supercats fail to deliver and lost top spot.
Braves would have thought they had the Pioneers measure as well, and failed to deliver yet are now top spot.
Spectres lose to the Thunder and failed to sweep in Tassie.
Spectres Vs Pioneers in the Ice House will be a belter. Likewise Braves Vs Supercats.

Makes it tougher for Supercats, now facing a road trip final, but they are good enough to bounce back from this loss...

Always a danger game now that Knox are up and about, they left their run far too late.

The house will be rocking in Bendigo next weekend for sure!

Still confident the Geelong boys can turn it around, heartbreaking loss for girls ending up 5th overall on %, that sucks...

bear - the Lady Supercats finished 4 in the East conference and travel to Dandenong next week; conference system for the women also, no longer just 1 conference for them. If they won last night they would have finished 3rd and had a home final against the Rangers instead of traveling up there but they lost too many close matches during the season especially when leading at 3/4 time or the dying stages of matches.
