Breakers Boss to stay.

The NZ Breakers General Manager Richard Clarke has turned down the Auckland Blues Super Rugby Team's offer to run their Franchise next season.

"Breakers owners Paul and Liz Blackwell made Clarke aware of his importance but gave him enough space not to influence his decision. In the end he went with a gut feeling. His desire is to create a dynasty at the Breakers.

One of four National Basketball League directors charged with implementing the restructure and Australasian league expansion, Clarke is also motivated to stay on and oversee this role."

Good news for the Breakers.

Even better news that they managed to write an entire article without referring to the "ANBL"

He wouldn't have been offered a considerable payrise is another factor. Super Rugby in NZ doesn't have the type of money the footy codes throw around to staff here.
