Very misleading topic heading. READ the article, its speculation and a potential outcome if things aren't addressed, not FACT.

I dont think its telling us anymore than we already know. With council as the major creditor there is no risk of them going into liquidation.Just goes to show the importance of good governance.

Nothing there that isn't already common knowledge.

Agree, previous board seem to have had issues with transperancy and governance.

This is not that uncommon, the thing here is the amount of $$ owing (not a paltry sum)...

It will take some careful and strategic negotiations along with a fair amount of empathy from council, however with the bigger picture in mind and with cool heads prevailing it can be overcome...

HD, might it suit the council to allow them to go into liquidation?

Cut and paste this article for Frankston in 3 years. Board and CEO have no control over spending. Sound familiar?

Frankston have grand plans to redevelop and extend their stadium. Problem is theres no money to do it.You need Federal, State, Council and Association funding. Council is building a huge aquatic centre in the centre of Frankston so there money is tied up up there for at least the next five years. Also the land they need is already occupied by football.

Agree Happy Days. Add the fact that Frankston are eating away the reserves built up over 10 years, and only making a $9k profit, means they are unlikely to have any funds available to contribute, or pay off a loan.

Council are also pouring money into the new facilities at Frankston VFL ground so the $135k was a token gesture by council. The councils doing all the spending at the moment are Casey and Cardinia and they are doing a great job with sporting facilities in their region.Frankston should spend there money giving their stadium a good clean and update there toilet facilities.

Huge surprise that an Association which had a couple of $Million in the bank not too many years ago is now in such Dire Straits.

I wonder how much of this is due to the financial agreement BV negotiated for the SBC.

They are just going to have to live within their own means and have less grand expectations until they can get their house in order.

So if the previous board and management had responded to concerns from some of the domestic clubs earlier the damage wouldnt be so bad!!! seems all the talk about the "trouble makers" is bull****. I fell for it but am happy to admit i was wrong and they were right.
