HOw about a decent title for the thread if anyone cares.
First NBL import who may be sacked, or you expect to be sacked after they play a nbl pre season game.

Last year I incorrectly picked Seth Scott but will go with Darnell Lazare.

If Heal couldn't stand his defensive abilities I doubt a Breakers org looking to be the first team ever to four-peat will either.

The Kings Charles Carmouche is my other fancy.

Everyone had Sydney last place last year preseason then they ended up making top 4. Early days yet.

Sax 15, yes.

Heal used to go nuts at him in timeouts for his poor defence and would often bench him for long periods even when they needed his offence.

I dare say the only reason Lazare was axed during the season is lack of funds for a replacement import. In saying that they made the playoffs.

But still was very surprised the Breakers didn't re-sign Hudson or try and get in a similar bits & pieces, hustle/play D type import everything Lazare isn't.

Lazare was signed to score off the bench not to be a defensive force for NZ.
Breakers knew what they were getting when they signed him.

Well you're going to need some sort of defence out of him as he and Pledger are your only two guys above 6'6". Vukona can't effectively guard too many centres.

Jeremiah Trueman is 6"9 and is the backup center.

Lazare will be required defensively just like any other player.

But having a center rotation of Pledger and Trueman is no issue. Theres enough size there.

Of course we are in trouble if Pledger goes down..but mind you every team minus the 36ers would be in trouble. Reason 36ers are fine is because they have big Luke as their reserve center.

FYI - funny thing is they should be able to claim all that tax back when they leave the country anyway.

Clearly he wasn't sacked. Stacker was never sacked. His contract wasn't renewed. BIG diff. In this case the player concerned quit and walked based possibly on his former agent mis representing him. Of course the player concerned should have known but we will never know. Sacked, nope.
