Does anyone know what age group are the 40 athletes?

For the boys, all of them are 17-18 years old (born 95-96). I'd say the girls more or less the same except for Rocci, she would be top age 16.

Is it just me or is anyone else irritated by the constant references to 'athletes' in this article?

They used to be called 'players', because they played. 'Athletes' makes it sound like they don't even need to be a player to be considered.

We've had enough comments on here disappointed about how there's too much stress on athletic abilities rather than pure skills in our national teams these days, and this article seems to prove once again that that's what they're looking for.

Wow, congratulations to Chantal Horvat from Geelong being selected at the age of 15, a wonderful effort, also the Supercats' George Blagojevic gets another chance to show his amazing skills as a 6'7" small forward...

And, yes, they are all obviously basketball athletes!
