Off the plane here at Christmas - 4/6FGs, 2/2 3pts
7/9 FTs 3RBs 2STLs - half a game off the bench.
Later, there was a 'system' here.If you could call it a system at all. I don't even know what it was about, neither did Ron.

Clarkes system was the reason he was rubbish in the NBL

Exactly, could play just didnt work in Clarkes 'system' and he isnt the only one, espeically import who didnt understand/fit Clarkes system so dont read too much into his time at the 36ers, showed some glimpses but was never used properly.

Definatly can play, have seen him play some D-league games online, if under a decent coach could be a good scoring combo guard in the NBL for sure imo. We never saw anything close to his best in the NBL, saw the occasional glimpse only, due to the role Clarke wanted him to fill.

Good luck to Ron on his NBA stint.

Ron only got this chance because of the development he received under Australia's greatest ever player-development coaches.

Clarke himself knocked back many NBA head coaching offers in in the last few years in order to maintain his integrity and remain involved in player development in a college like Mary's, whose focus has always been on development of local players.

Its just Marty's humble way of giving a little back to a sport that has given him so much.

Once again the roll call of Marty Clarke's imports in his 3 years at the 36ers:

Craig Winder
Troy DeVries
Eddie Shannon
Ron Howard
John Williamson
Chris Warren
Diamon Simpson
CJ Massingale
Scott Christopherson

BigAds, not yet far away enough. Hopefully in six months time, the last three years (five years) of mediocrity will be a dim dark memory.

Good luck to Ron, but I would say he is a camp filler at this stage.
Pacers are a stacked team trying to win the Champ next season. So I doubt they use a spot on a player that can't contribute this season.

Hopefully he does well in camp and pre-season and either gets noticed by another NBA team or signs with their D-League team and gets a chance at the NBA during the season if injuries occur.
