Seemed poised for a big season. Such a momentum killer for the poor bloke.

Definitely looked like he was going to have a great season. Massive pre season in the states trying out.
Let's hope it's not too serious and we see him sooner rather than later!!

Look at Tom Abercrombie and how long it took to rehab his ankle after that nasty injury.
Fingers crossed for him but he is very well looking at season over for Chris Goulding.

Melbournes stuffed unless they can get a good replacement

No doubt this will hurt Melbourne, really depends on how long he is out. Nate Tomlinson will have to continue his preseason form for the tigers to have a chance. Stephen Dennis like many of the new imports looks to be a MVP contender this season

Melbourne's depth in the guards was pretty shallow to begin with, wasn't it? Will take some very inspired recruiting to patch over the hole this will leave if Goulding misses the season.

Would consider signing Nevill and getting rid of Morrison for a Import Guard if Goulding is ruled out for the year.

Maybe D-Mac can lace them up for 6-8 weeks to help cover the hole!

From Roy Ward on Twitter:

More info to come about @ChrisGoulding43 but he will be back well before Christmas. Tigers may still sign a short term player.

From Anstey:

"I am pleased to report back that there is no major bone or ligament damage to the ankle", said Anstey.

“We do believe that the injury will take some time to recover from, and at this stage Chris is expected to return sometime in November. We will however keep track on the progress and evaluate Chris's injury on a weekly basis".

“Over the course of the week we will decide on whether or not to bring in a replacement for Chris, which the Club will release a statement on should this be confirmed”.
