boomers v lightning - (el spoilero)

great start by both teams - boomers wearing adelaide down.

remember hearing about poppens here (hoops) first !!

great work ethic...

poppens - "practically perfect in every way.."

(if you know your P L Travers you will understand that quote)

best WNBL season I have ever seen

Laura Hodges doing well, ange marino - her best I have seen all season.

azania - keep your feet on the ground - with your height you dont need to jump to block )

Melbourne are very young team. But they played very well. If you try and shut down madgen up pops poppens or Allen.

Lightning aren't going to trouble the Top 4 teams if they only get 1 player in to double figures (Hodges). When was the last the last Foley went scoreless in a WNBL game? Defensively the Lightning were horrible yesterday & the Boomers got whatever they wanted from the shuffle cut offense & without Madgen having a big influence on the game offensively. Surely Buckle has to have a Plan B option when Plan A isn't working? Nadeen Payne's basketball development is going backwards at a rate of knots since she has joined the Lightning. She looks a shell of the player that she was 2 - 3 years ago in Townsville.

Remember you heard about Poppens here first {unless you were paying even the slightest attention to the WNBA this year}

Along with Nadine Payne Amy Lewis has gone from an exciting dynamic player to playing junk time under Buckle this season. His dragging of players after making mistakes applies to some but not all. Team cohesion shot to bits.

Amy Lewis and Nadine Payne both need to leave. I have been saying that for awhile now. Both players could get bulk minutes and freedom under another coach. Typical confidence and development squashing that Buckle is so good at!

Sad but true. Some programs seem to allow young talent to blossom quickly, but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the norm at the Lightning these days. 2 players with enormous potential just stagnating. Very unfortunate.

If he loves you, you can do no wrong. However, piss him off or struggle to adapt to his style and you'll quickly find yourself at the end of explosive sprays and riding the pine.

It is sad what is happening to Payne, I think a move to somewhere like Logan could help free her up and get her many more minutes and help get her confidence back.
