Woodville vs Norwood

In the clash of the Dome on Saturday, Woodville won the Mens game in a thriller, double OT, whilst the women lost to the FLames.

WOMEN
Norwood 75 Woodville 56

Melissa Marsh and Natalie Love shared tops coring honours with 16, Love also pulling down 7 rebounds. Natalie Buck had 13 and Trudie Hopgood 12. For Woodville, Shannon Gates had 13, including 3 consecutive triples, and Sue Wells had 10. Tay Crockford battled hard for 8 points, 10 rebounds.

In the Barrat vs Mostert battle, both negated each other pretty well, neither having a major influence in the game, however the stats lines suggest Mostert had the better advantage.

MENS

WOW!! What a game. Double OT. Which considering Woodville were up 57-43 at half time, speak volumes for the effort the Flames put in.

Keith Krause top scored with 31 points on 9/27 shooting, 11/14 FT and 10 rebounds. Also sent Zane Reeves to the nearest bin with a well disguised elbow to the solar plexus. Dan Thompson also played well for the Flames with 25 points, 7 rebounds and fouling out in OT.

For Woodville, Puddifoot continued his excellent form with 27 points on 10/24 shooting. but miserable from the stripe with only 4 shots connecting from 12 attempts. He also grabbed 18 boards (10 offensive) and 6 assists. Cam Wilson had 23 points, Matt Elder 22 with 18 boards and also fouling out in OT, Birmingham had 15.

Weirdest thing of the night was Paul Rees being ruled ineligible to play after it was discovered partway through the first quarter that his name was not on the score sheet, and as it had been signed off, Rees could no longer play.

Was a great game, well worth the price of admission.

actually it was a well thought out plan to keep Paul Rees fresh for todays game.

looks like it didn't work. Bungey was too good for Elder and Rees (trebilcock injured in saturday nights game), as Eastern returned to the winners circle!

the plan to save rees nearly paid dividends - many poor ref calls denied the big fella - often 3 defenders hanging off him

dont cry foul after that game.

the refs were at least consistent.

Calling touchy, no-advantage, hands fouls on guards, letting fouls in the key on shots and boards go, and calling moving screens, but not calling screens with elbows.

Woodville vs Eastern was my first chance to see this year's Warriors. A young bunch (besides Rees) but I was impressed with Cameron Wilson (#15?).

Madgen was great for Eastern, as was Brad Davis. Top game from the Mavs away from home and missing Trebilcock and Becis to get over the full-strength Warriors.

Whats wrong with Trebilcock and Becis.

#15 is indeed Cam Wilson. You should watch him more often; that was one of his bad games!

Trebilcock injured his ankle late in the game against South and Becis pulled a heart muscle a few weeks ago.
